No meaning to it, no lesson
No dignity, no grace
A slow, ugly stumble
The violence of momentum
The horizon gives out
Skull stops dead, cracks open
Thoughts spill out, write a story on the street
One of many that night, a Tuesday
If only I'd written a misunderstood song
But this one is just straight
There is no one to break the fall
Because they can't
They don't want to
Or they're dead
Drawing breath with liquid lungs
In a goulash of brain and sewage
In a matter of a mind shattered
The stuff of dreams a chunky stew
Shadows in the mist
Hunched forms take shape
Lost, feeling about
Fumbling in the dark of the street
They pick up your bones
Drink up your haemorrhage
Place your eyes in their skulls
Oblivious to danger
There, there
Your voice betrays no fear
You're there to break their fall
Because you can
And you'll want to
Until you're dead

This is just the cathartic release I was needing. This album is very much in line with the quintessential funeral doom metal sound and does it well. Camelus Dromedarius

This album is one of the more powerfull (funeral) doom albums of 2020 that may be overlooked by most fans of the genre. Amazingly haunting and atmospheric. Sinister Downfall deserves a lot more attention than they are getting. Aldo Quispel
The Australian prog band channels the chaos of climate change into powerful songs that juxtapose beauty with unpredictable brutality. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 28, 2021
An ambitious, yet tightly executed, death metal debut that trades in crushing riffs, funereal effects, and even the odd Shakespeare quote. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 25, 2023
